Hello my readers!
This is a short blog illustrating my short trip to Bangkok and Pattaya. Myself along with my hubby travelled from India to Thailand in October 2018. We had booked a trip through Thomas Cook- a reputed tour company. There was a pre-set itinerary for 4 days trip. The package cost was inclusive of to and fro flights.

Our flight by Indigo airlines for Bangkok from Kolkata, India was scheduled at 10.20 a.m. We reached Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok at 14.40 hours. After getting down, first we stood in long long queue for literally 2 hours for on arrival visa. Visa charge was 2000 Bahts per person. Then Immigration formalities were completed and finally we met Thomas cook representative at 5 p.m. So, we boarded an AC luxury coach bus and it headed off for Pattaya. It is around 150 kilometers distance. We reached Pattaya around 8.15 pm. We were dropped off at our four star hotel Grand Bella. Free welcome drink was offered at main entrance. Then we refreshed ourselves and we were taken for dinner at an Indian restaurant. Buffet dinner included delicious Indian food. After dinner, we requested our representative to drop us off at Pattaya beach road. Then two of us opened google maps and started walking towards the famous Walking street. It took around half an hour to reach there. Over there, it is a long reach of road jam-packed with live music bars, massage centres, beer bars, restaurants, food outlets on both sides. I purchased a coke bottle from one of the outlets. It was entertainment at its best. We returned from Walking street at around 2 am.

We woke up at 7am, took our bath and rushed for breakfast at hotel itself. This breakfast was complimentary. Breakfast had American as well as Indian cuisine. Next at 8.30 am our bus headed off for Pattaya beach. A speed boat was waiting for us. It drove us to Coral Island. It is ringed by beautiful white-sand beaches and warm turquoise seas. Over there, we enjoyed watersports activities at our own expenses. Various watersports activities like parasailing, snorkeling, under seawalk, banana boat, jet-ski can be enjoyed there. Lunch was served at a local Indian restaurant. It was extremely hot. However, at the beach and the blue waters, I relaxed quite well. We returned to our hotel at 4pm. So evening was at leisure. We walked from our hotel and reached Alcazar show venue in around 20 minutes. We had pre-booked tickets online for Alcazar cabaret show. This show started at 7.30 And got over by 8.15p.m. At the show, we were offered free welcome drink. This show is a theater presenting dance shows with colorfully costumed transgender performers & high-tech lighting. Then we walked back to hotel and were taken for dinner at 9pm. to an Indian restaurant. That night we were quite exhausted and we came back and went to bed.

This morning after breakfast, we were taken by bus to a local attraction i.e. Art in paradise. This is a unique hands-on museum with dioramas, dinosaurs, 3-D safari & ocean-themed scenes & other exhibits. This sightseeing took us around 2 hours. Then we were taken to pay a visit to famous Gems gallery. Here the original precious stones and pearls are used to make jewellery. It was a good experience to see how the stones are handled, cleaned and then cut and engraved in jewellery. After an hour we started off for Bangkok at 12pm. No lunch was offered on this day. We reached Bangkok around 3pm and there was a heavy shower at that time. So we were directly taken to Temple of Marble Buddha and Temple of Golden Buddha. I was overwhelmed by the magnificent temple architecture. We were also taken to Chinatown. Then we were dropped off at 4 star hotel Bangkok Palace at around 8pm. Check in did take some time. Then my husband and myself took a walk to the nearest streets and visited local food courts and small street shops. We also visited a pier but it was closed at that time.

This morning I was unfortunately down with fever. So I could not leave the bed. However, my husband went out and came back afternoon. At around 4pm, I was feeling somewhat better. We both went out and walked to Pratunam market. There I purchased garmenmts, earrings, T shirts, decorative items, souvenirs, chocolates and lot more. Ahain there was a shower at 5.30pm. However it lasted for only 20minutes. Then we visited the Chinese streetfood stalls and enjoyed steamed chicken and pork balls. This shopping and food craziness consumed almost 4 hours!! We also had seafood, famous Thai noodles and Thai fried rice. That night we returned to hotel at 9.30 pm.

This was our last morning. After breakfast, we both rushed to Pratunam and adjacent markets. We had time till 4pm. Since I was partially sick, so we did not visit Safari world. Happily we shopped and ate as we both are big foodies. Then evening we were dropped off at airport from where our return flight was scheduled.
